Allbirds is now a global footwear brand valued at over a
billion dollars, but it came from humble beginnings. Founder and
CEO Tim Brown came up with the idea when he was playing
soccer professionally for his home country of New Zealand.
After reaching the pinnacle of the sport, competing in the
2010 World Cup, Tim walked away from a multiyear contract extension
to pursue the idea that eventually became Allbirds. It was a
pleasure talk sport, business, and the common threads in each with
such a humble and genuine person.
Topics of conversation: Tim's background as an athlete and how
it made him a better entrepreneur, the value of teammates and
business partners, staying hungry after success and persistent
after failure, the sustainability mission of the brand, and
the new performance running shoe they've just brought to
market.
